Ember & Ink is a collective of MFA graduates who work as teachers, consultants, novelists, and professionals from a variety of fields, all united by their love of story. Some of us are currently drafting and revising, while others are actively querying projects or beginning new ones, every day.

But credentials are only part of our story.

One of the main reasons we decided to create Ember & Ink was to offer a solution to a problem: the landscape of writing advice and education is not always the most helpful and can make the process even more discouraging. Writers are often told to "show, don't tell," "write what you know," "kill your darlings," and countless other “rules,” often presented with little explanation or context.

Instead of accumulating pages, you begin agonizing.

So, our goal is simple: equip aspiring writers with practical craft tools they can employ to tell their stories in the most effective way possible.
